Thirty down, Ten to go

Tomorrow I will hit the 30 week mark. Only 10 weeks (more or less) before Fiona becomes an official Texan! Already, she is wise beyond her years (or weeks). She knows it's been the hottest summer on record with temps over 100 EVERYDAY! Smarty pants is waiting for the fall to come out and play.

Summer is flying by like it always does. Tim and I took traveled up north last month to spend some much needed time with our family in Ohio. We had a fabulous trip and were so sad to have to leave and return to the heat. We stayed at my parents house and made the rounds around town all week. Thank you M&D for letting us take over the house and make ourselves at home (especially in the kitchen!).

Fifi and Mike invited us over for dinner. Delicious food and conversation all evening. It was so great to catch up with everyone. We love and miss you all (Fifi, Mike, Lindsay, Brook(sorry we missed you),Travis, Uncle Joe, Uncle Dougie and Aunt Sallie)!

The trip culminated with a baby shower in Fiona's honor on Sunday at my parents house given by my sweet sister and Mom. It was PERFECT! Of course it rained that morning, but the clouds parted just in time for the party. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Tim and I really cleaned up on the baby swag! It's so humbling to have been shown so much generousity and we are truly grateful for the love and support of our family and friends.

Somehow I packed everything we received in our suitcases and we were off...back to Austin the next day. Reality came crashing back in as soon as we got to the airport. First the flight was delayed, next we land and it's 103 degrees, then the kennel decides to charge us an extra night b/c we're 40 minutes late picking up our boys Poco & Diego, then all my plants are dead at our house, and finally...we order a pizza and they get our order wrong!!! Just made the memories of our trip that much sweeter.

Like I said earlier, we are in the final stretch of the pregnancy. Only 10 weeks to go before my due date. Fiona is actually kicking me right now as I type; I believe she is as anxious as Tim and I for her to arrive. We have started getting her room ready and it's actually starting to look like a nursery. This is really happening!

We had our latest appointment last Tuesday. Again, everything is going just as it should. Fi now weighs 3 lbs 1 oz and her legs are still measuring long. I've gained a total of 23 lbs and my blood pressure is nice and low. We got to see her again on the ultrasound. She even opened her little mouth and stuck her tongue out at us...so sweet! We go back again in two weeks and have our prenatal/parenting class scheduled for the 16th.

Wish me luck getting through these last ten weeks. I'm really slowing down and love to hear any and all encouraging words.

My love to you all...H
