Going into week 11

I'm now about ten a half weeks along and I have the say, the beginning is pretty boring. Not too much to blog about, but I'll try to keep everyone interested in the meantime.

Today is Easter Sunday and we took the boys (Poco & Diego) for a lovely walk on the eastside of Town Lake. Tim and I really do grow closer everyday. We have been through so many ups and downs and sometimes you think you know every little thing about the person you married. However, each new experience (i.e. pregnancy) has made me fall in love just a bit more. Compassion is an underrated quality in our society and one that I am continually thankful that my husband possesses.

Needless to say, I am being extremely well taken care of. Bianca and Janna have been my big sisters and I am so grateful to have them in my life and on my block! I thank and love you gals!!! Meredith, Jen, Brandi, Natalie, & Maggie are also a huge part of my constant support system...I am one lucky lady!

We go back to the doctor on the 2nd for a another ultrasound and more blood work. I'll post a full update soon after. Looking forward to starting to show and not just look like "Fat Heather" :)

Finally...I want to shout a very loud CONGRATULATIONS to Kelly and Matt Shook! They too are going to be joining the ranks of parenthood about 5 weeks behind us. Tim and I are so very happy for them and looking forward to sharing the journey.

My love to you all...H

First Doctor Appointment

Tim and I had our first prenatal appointment on Wednesday. I was thrilled that Tim wanted to come with me. He got to meet my doctor, Dr. Seeker, which was really important to me. The first appointment was pretty surreal. It was over in a flash!

Long story short...I'm exactly eight weeks along and everything is going perfectly according to plan! We had the first ultrasound performed at the visit (check out the pic I put up). Talk about absolutely weird, crazy stuff. All of a sudden, there's our baby on the screen and the really cool part was that it actually LOOKED like a baby! The doctor even pointed out the little arm bud. Freaky!

Tim and I left the office with huge smiles on our faces and immediately drove to get the hungry mama some food. We're due back on April 2nd for round two.

In the meantime, I have hopefully just a few more mornings filled with nausea (it's been pretty bad now for 2 weeks) and I would really like to be awake for more than 12 hours a day. But...whatever baby wants, baby gets!

My love to you all...H

First Blog

Good Morning! After talking to my great friend, Rachel, I've decided to start a blog about my baby to be. I'm doing this as much for Tim and myself as I am for everyone out there who loves us and wants to be a part of the experience I'm referring to as "Baby Kelly"! Now...don't get confused...Kelly is our last name, not the baby's first name.

Tim and I found out that I am pregnant in early February. I will be eight weeks on March 5th, which also happens to be our first doctor appointment. By my calculations, Baby Kelly's birthday will be right around October 17, 2008.

For those of you who live here in beautiful Austin, TX or know anything about the area...this means I'm going to be at my biggest during the two hottest months of the year! Don't worry, I've already starting shopping kiddie pools to lounge in and Tim will be on ice cream duty.

Well, it's 9:30 in the morning and I'm already ready for a nap.

My love to you all...H
